The Equality for Women Measure RAPID Strand

 

The Equality for Women Measure is a positive action programme for women, led by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and funded through the National Development Plan 2000-2006.  It is designed to promote pilot initiatives aimed at improving the economic, social, cultural and political lives of women. 

 

 Under the RAPID Strand of the Measure, €7 million has been earmarked to fund projects which address the needs of women living in designated RAPID (Revitalising Areas through Planning, Investment and Development) areas. The RAPID programme operates in 45 designated disadvantaged communities in Irish cities and towns.
